Nico Robin the archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates

Nico Robin is the archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates. She was originally introduced as the vice president of Baroque Works, known as Miss All Sunday, before joining the Straw Hats. She is the seventh member of the crew, the sixth to join, and, like Nami and Usopp, is the second to rejoin, doing so near the end of the Enies Lobby Arc. Robin is also the first member to have once been an antagonist. She ate the Hana Hana no Mi. During the Post-War arc, she became involved with the Revolutionaries for two years. Her dream is to find the Rio Poneglyph which tells the true history. She currently holds a bounty of Beli80,000,000.

Appearance:

Nico Robin is a tall, slender, yet athletic woman with shoulder-length black hair. She has brown eyes, with dark, wide pupils (blue eyes in the anime, excluding the tenth and the twelfth movie), and she has a long, thin and defined nose. In the anime, Robin's skin tone is slightly darker unlike in manga colored artworks where it is lighter. Robin also resembles her mother greatly, with the exception of her hair color and style as well as having slightly darker skin tone than her. Robin's limbs are very long, especially her legs, contributing greatly to both her fighting capabilities (given the nature of her powers) and overall height, and like most female characters in the series, she has a narrow waist. Many people consider her to be very attractive or beautiful, and she, along with Nami, is an eyecandy for fellow crew member Sanji.

From the Return to Sabaody Arc near the end of the Fishman Island Arc, Robin's hair has grown longer, down to her lower back and is pulled back, revealing more of her forehead and ears. Her outfit after the timeskip now consists of a long pink sari-like skirt with a partially-zipped purple leather vest with a V-neck line similar to Boa Hancock's and a white rose printed on the left breast near the shoulder that exposed her stomach, sunglasses, pink high heeled pumps, and a pink backpack. She wears sunglasses which she hangs on her forehead and is seen wearing them during the battle with the New Fishman Pirates in the Gyoncorde Plaza.

Like Nami, her breasts have gotten much larger. In the anime, her skin is much lighter in color after the timeskip. This skin tone is much closer to what her skin tone has always been in the manga. In the anime, her black hair became lighter in color. Unlike the other members, however, Robin did not grow taller, as she remains at 188 cm.

After the battle for Fishman Island, Robin wore a simple green V-neck one-piece dress. While exploring the Burning Lands of Punk Hazard during the Punk Hazard Arc with some of her crew mates, Robin removes her dress due to the heat to reveal a floral camisole and shorts underneath. She later ties her dress around her waist as a makeshift skirt. She also has on very high heels with this outfit and still wears her new trademark sunglasses over her forehead. She later wears a long, spotted winter coat over this, while on the Ice Lands of the island, which she took from a female member of Brownbeard's Centaur Patrol Unit.

During the events in Dressrosa, she wears a very short, black dress. It is low cut, and hence, a large portion of her cleavage is visible.

Abilities and Powers:

Robin has no superhuman abilities beyond her Devil Fruit powers and is an above average athlete. While the frequent use of her powers in battle leave much of her physical attributes in question, it is hinted from time to time that Robin's physical prowess is actually much stronger than her frail build would otherwise suggest.

Robin ate a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit called the Hana Hana no Mi at a very young age as she is seen using its powers at the age of eight. Even at this age, she was proficient enough to be able to spy on the research that Professor Clover and the rest of her former colleagues from Ohara were conducting under the radar of the World Government. She can spread her body parts on any surface including her own body, other bodies, and other objects, allowing her to create copies of them. However, if her replicated parts are hurt, she feels the pain on her actual body. Usually, when she uses her powers she crosses her arms and makes an "X" shape across her chest. Robin is intelligent enough to know how to use her powers in the most effective and efficient way, and her attacks hinder the enemy, stopping all movement with the ever multiplying hands. Although she is very powerful, her sprouted body parts can be hit and stretched, causing damage to her real body, which is her weak point. Her powers are also very useful in dangerous situations. She can carry her friends by using feet and hands, but also tends to use her ability to place her foes in painful submission holds.

Her most common attacks are "Seis Fleur: Twist" (Robin twists the foe's upper body around) and "Ocho Fleur: Flip" (Robin uses a pair of arms that knock over the foe backwards, forms a pair of arms on the ground below them, and when the foe lands on it, two more pairs appear at their legs and head and pull them to the ground) and Clutch (her hands grow out of her opponents back, these hands clasp the targets chin simultaneously pulling the head back and breaking the targets neck, for stronger opponents, she uses more hands and has been seen breaking a person in half).

History:

Robin's group (except for Sabo and Koala) later reached the colosseum stands. Robin noted that after Pica rearranged Dressrosa, the outer wall of the Colosseum came into contact with the King's Plateau, and that if they climbed up there, they could meet with the others.

They eventually arrived at the top of the old King's Plateau where they met up with Riku Dold III, Viola, and Tank Lepanto.

After Viola found the keys to Law's kairoseki handcuffs, Robin contacted Luffy through Den Den Mushi and told him to meet her, Rebecca, Bartolomeo, and Leo at the sunflower garden on the fourth level of the new King's Plateau.

Leo then planned to travel to the new King's Plateau with the assistance of the beetles of the Tontatta Airlines Yellow Cab. Rebecca, Robin, and Bartolomeo were uncertain of the idea since the beetles seem too small to carry a person. Leo then explained that the beetles are the Tontatta Airlines "jumping" service and made them jump down from the old King's Plateau. To their amazement, the beetles can decelerate their fall and they learned that they could use the beetles to jump from rooftop to rooftop. Leo reminded them to aim for the fourth level and warned them to watch out for attacks from below.

They later reached the giant Pica statue while Zoro was battling Pica. After Pica noticed them, he prepared to throw a colossal punch at the trio with the statue. When Zoro stopped Pica with a powerful sword slash, Robin was relieved

Robin, Rebecca, and Bartolomeo then passed the giant stone statue and continued onwards to the fourth level. While flying over the second level, the group was attacked by Gladius. Robin and Bartolomeo were subsequently separated from Rebecca, Leo, and Kabu. Robin and Bartolomeo then landed on the third level where Luffy, Law, Kyros, and Cavendish were. Robin and Bartolomeo faced off against Gladius and an army of giant toys to enable Luffy and his allies to continue on towards the fourth level where Rebecca would be waiting.

As Luffy, Law, and Kyros went up the stairway created by Bartolomeo's ability, Bartolomeo got injured protecting Luffy from Gladius' attacks. After Robin saved Bartolomeo from one of the giant toys, she remarked that Luffy has always been the winning trump card. She then knocked away the toys in the vicinity and declared that she will not allow Gladius to lay a hand on Luffy.

When the giant toys returned to their original forms after Sugar's second defeat, Robin realized that the reason for the toys' size was that each was made from eight soldiers.

Robin was next seen making her way up to level 4 while Bartolomeo guarded her. She made haste, worrying about Rebecca's safety. Gladius tried to gun her down, but Bartolomeo used his barrier to block the shots. Robin winked at Bartolomeo in gratitude, making him very happy.

After Cavendish turned into Hakuba, he ran up the cliff to attack her, but Robin was able to stop him with her powers. Cavendish then regained control of his body while apologizing to Robin over what Hakuba did. While Robin had both Cavendish and Hakuba restrained, Gladius attempted to rupture the plateau they were on. Bartolomeo attempted to stop Gladius, but his efforts were in vain. Cavendish, having gained some control over Hakuba, pleaded with Robin to trust him to escape the explosion with Hakuba's speed. The two narrowly escaped from Gladius's attack with Cavendish stopping Hakuba from harming Robin by holding his blade with his hand. Cavendish then fell asleep afterwards while Robin went on ahead. She arrived at the Sunflower Field just in time to save Rebecca from one of Diamante's attack. She then told Rebecca that she can leave the fight to her.

Robin then promised Kyros that she would protect Rebecca so he could focus on his battle with Diamante.

When Diamante caused spiky iron balls to rain down from the sky, Robin shielded Rebecca with Mil Fleur: Flower Umbrella. Robin remained at Rebecca's side until Kyros cut down Diamante. However, some of Diamante's iron balls managed to graze Robin's back.

After Diamante's defeat, Robin was surprised when Pica appeared and then left after speaking to Kyros and Rebecca. They then watched Pica head towards the Old King's Plateau.
