It's pretty much confirmed that Big Mom is simply deplorable. She hears her daughter is well, and what does she care? She wishes she were dead. No wonder Lola ran away. She's all about her own ambitions and wants, she even has the audacity to put her own desires and "feelings" at the forefront of importance rather than her daughter's well-being? Need anything else be said about her character? Completely vile and nasty by nature.
What was interesting was the Germa's reaction to humans being kept in her book, I didn't think they'd have been startled by that at all; perhaps, the Germa have their own underlying agenda and aren't simply there to form an alliance.
More importantly, that book also showed people screaming help - one can imagine there are many people who attempted to leave Big Mom and are stuck there and will be potential allies should they escape; the book even retains vitality, so, perhaps people don't need to be fed.
Something striking was Mont'dor didn't even remember the SHs were kept in, so, if something were going on, he might not even know which leaves room for things to develop - I'd imagine the loss of consciousness may also lead to a release of those trapped within the book.
Big Mom stated she'd be Pirate King if she were able to defeat the Emperors; this is more consolidation that the Emperors must be defeated to be Pirate King... it seems Luffy saying so himself or Chinjao saying so wasn't enough, surely this coming from an Emperor should put in a tightly nailed coffin to rest that opposite view.
Finally, it's clear that Luffy and Big Mom will fight. The chapter speaks for itself in that regard; Luffy's ready to take her on here and now, and Big Mom will follow through if things continue to get out of hand... more so with the Tametabako box.
